It sounds as if your partner is in desperate need of some professional help.

If you believe your partner is in immediate danger, you can call 911, , or Find a Therapist.

You dont know my from adam.   The short version to the story is I a recovering alcoholic with over 5 years.  You need to have him put into the hospital on an in-patient basis. That way they can control the entire enviornment and know and see what medications he is on.  I am a Gay US Army Veteran, and was living with a friend that was a veteran too.  Needless to say we have both physical and emotional distress beyond measure, he was an Army Ranger, and a young retiree like myself,  from injuries sustained in the Army found ourselves needing medications for different reasons.  He found ways to get the pills he want to mix with the pills he needed.  He never gave the pharmacy anything to be alarmed about but I knew that he was somehow getting what he "wanted" off the streets.  He was a great friend, and a hero for this great nation, the United States of America.  He was layed to rest with a 21 gun salute at the ripe ol' age of 32 this last october.  I often times thought, if i turn him in he could get the help but knew he would be mad, or that he would hate me for blowing the whistle, for arguing with him and listening to his denial about it, and so on and so on.  I figured eventually he would get the message of the danger of perscription medications and over use (even if starting to take them for a legit reason)/(rational that if one works good 4 work better)abuse/(its fun, social lubrication, inhibition suppressors) recreatonal use.  I should of hit him, knocked him out cold or beat him into submission and forced him to go into inpatient treatment.  I spent alot of time negotiating with him as I am pretty good at that stuff after some Law Enforcement training.  But agaain I figured, nothing that bad would ever come from it.  It was beautiful funeral. Just food for thought, get him/her the help they need.  I am not a shrink, just working on my Criminal Justice Degree then a Psychology Degree.  I am here for you if you need anything.  Please, dont wait like i did, or assume that eventully the person who is hooked will magically wake up and suddenly see the signs of danger.  Also, being that I was Airborne Infantry, i am pretty beat up for only being 29 years YOUNG! :) so I have serious physical and emotional distress from my Army service, and I keep waiting on the VA for my next surgery on my back, that never seems to be coming.  I just want to get fixed, it is easy from what I have studied any pill can be a point of trouble for addiction for a myriad of reasons.  Anyway, good look, you and yours will be in my prayers.  Because someone once helped me, i want badly to help you.  name is Greg Smith 801-580-2760...although giving personal information on-line is against my nature, i want your partner to be okay.  And you to be okay as well.  Call day or night.  It is the least I can do since I did not help my battle buddy survive!

Tough love is sometimes the only love that we can use, to get the point acress.

Sincerely,
