Hi Anxious,

Effexor (brand name for Venlafaxine) is usually prescribed for depression and anxiety. It is an antidepressant. While medicines like Effexor have helped many people deal with the issues associated with depression and anxiety, there are a small number of people who have the opposite experience. So if you think the Effexor is not working, it might be prudent for you to have a conversation with your doctor to determine if the dosage needs to be adjusted or if another medication should be considered.

Remember, online sites are wonderful resources for finding the information you need to help you ask all the right questions, but they can not take the place of your doctors solid medical advice. Only you and your doctor know what is best when it comes to managing your healthcare.
