Q: I apparently have delusions , but my medications are not helping me, what should I do?

I sometimes "feel" that my daughter is with me and is in her room, while she is living overseas since couple of years ago. Usually, after I ask for her from my husband, he responds me that she is no longer with us, it takes me about an hour to understand that she is really not here. I have referred to doctor for this reason, and he prescribed me these items: Olanzepam 5mg, Pirazepam 800mg. The problem is since I have started these medications (one week), I have more "delusions" as it is described (like sensing my parents around, who are passed away long ago). What I must do with this condition. I also have Diabetes type II, which is under control by medications.

Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.

I am not a medical professional and so I would not be able to give you medical advice.

Maybe you are feeling a sense of loss right now. Is there something in your life that you are missing or maybe feeling depressed or lonely? Any of these may provide a reason for feeling as if your loved ones are around you.

Besides your medical treatment, you may want to consider therapy, to help you cope with the reasons you are sensing your loved ones.
