    Hi Ophilia,

     

    Your heart "jumping" could be caused by a benign condition such as mitral valve prolapse (MVP --common with people with anxiety), or it could be heart palpitations from anxiety. 

     

    For peace of mind, get your heart checked out by a Cardiologist that you trust.  If he/she tells you that it's MVP, palpatations from anxiety, or some other benign condition, then you can trust in the results and utlize relaxation techniques to slow down your heart rate.

    When adrenaline is stimulated in your system (due to a sudden scare/anxious moment) it can cause that phenomenon - which clinically woudl be called a sudden arrythmia or palpitations.  It's typically harmless and most of us have experienced it.
