Can an anxiety attack last for hours?

Sometimes my heart races, my chest is tight, and i feel like I'm not getting enough air. It will sometimes start when I go to bed and last all night and the next day.

In my experience, yes. Then you are diagnosed with acute anxiety disorder. But, the good news is, I have not had one in years, and spent several years having them. So, have faith, you can get better. Just remember, it is only a physical symptom and you are ok. It is that simple. Get some xanax to alleviate the symptoms while you are getting better.
