Hi Sharon,   It is best you speak to your doctor. Depakote (or Depakene, divalproex sodium) is a medication used to treat seizures, prescribed to folks who are bipolar and numerous other uses. The side effects of the drug do say to call the doctor immediately if any of the following symptoms appear:   "This medication rarely may cause mood or behavior changes, such as anxiety, agitation, hostility, pressured/rapid speech, or thoughts of suicide. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop unusual (possibly sudden) mood changes."   I don't see any drug interactions, but that doesn't mean they do not exist.   You can use this information to ask your doctor about the possibilities. Let us know what you find out. Stay in touch. We'll be thinking of you and your son. Vicki M
