Hi Chela: I'm not a physician, but I do know that any antidepressant, if it causes the depression to lift sufficiently, can cause a person to be far more active. If a person gets out of a slump caused by depression, they can possibly engage in reckless behaviour.   In children, we have seen that antidepressants can bring about suicidal thoughts.   You didn't explain much in your question, but here's one more consideration. Antidepressants in Bipolar patients can trigger manic behaviour. If the person has been diagnosed as Bipolar (it used to be called Manic Depression) or has exhibited any form of mania, including risky behaviours, the physician prescribing the medication should be told immediately.   I hope this helps, Dr. Diana Walcutt
