Q: Hello, would like a few answers to some anxiety/psychotic symptoms

Hello, diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia 5 years ago(i question the accuracy now). Made what seemed like a full recovery, stopped taking meds in a controlled way at the start of the year. A few days ago i became acutely anxious before an exam when i sat down in the exam, started to feel like people were manipulating me through bodily noises like sniffing and coughing, these were referred to years ago when they were diagnosed as delusions of reference caused by paranoid thoughts. These two psychotic symptoms are the only ones i have ever suffered, i have also suffered with GAD. I'm sure the intense anxiety caused psychosis. Would my psychiatrist's diagnosis be accurate based on an anxiety disorder, paranoid thoughts and delusions of reference? What is the best way of dealing with GAD without medication? Does hypnotherapy work?

cheers

anthony

I really tried to go off my meds once, twice, to save money cause i would never do it again!!!  i would only go off meds with a doctors supervision

that you are weaned off the meds....i used to switch meds that was a mistake for me...I know i have a chemical imbalance in my brain

and i accept it and don't feel there is anything wrong with meds...

i have never tried hypnotherapy. i have tried pschyiatrists that didn't prove to be effective for me...i suffer with some form of paranoia where i walk into a room thinking people are talking about me or making fun of me....hang in there, take it day by day.....
