Thank you for your question.

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

I have been told that it can take 6-8 weeks to feel the full effect of antidepressant medications. However, if you are not happy with the results of this medication, you should speak directly with your physician. He or she would be better able to determine if you should have an adjustment in your dosage or if you should try a different medication.

In the meantime, you may want to keep track of how you are feeling each day. The more information we provide for our doctors, the better they can care for us. A previous post: Monitoring the Effectiveness of Medication helps you to create a chart. You can then share this information at your next appointment.

Remember that medication can help to reduce symptoms of anxiety, but does not cure anxiety. You will also need to take steps to control anxiety and nervousness. For example, identifying anxiety triggers can help you develop strategies for managing anxiety symptoms and develop an effective treatment plan

In addition, you may want to make sure you include exercise in your daily routine, as this has been found to reduce overall anxiety. Cognitive behavioral therapy has also been helpful to many people.

Unfortunately, managing anxiety takes more than just medication.

Basically.. I wouldn't go near meds for lowering of anxiety apart from 2mg Diazepam One at night intermittently (NOT EVERY NIGHT OR ELSE I would get hooked,,,so I didn't). I took less than 2 prescriptions of 14 tabs over 16 months and by no means finished the script...

For anxiety therefore I took tabs to calm me down not stir me up like antidepressants do and received CBT which was extremely helpful,,,

I refused anything that made my irritbility worse or made my irratic behaviour worse.

Try turkey and spinach and beansprouts and brocolli in your diet and oranges...
