Hi Kimmy,
I remember when I took ativan. I actually lost weight, but some people may gain weight. Medicines effect people differently but that is the way it worked for me. I became dependent on it, however, and since I got off of it, I don't take benzodiazapams anymore. I take buspar instead. It doesn't work as fast, but I don't become dependent on it.
