Maria - I can understand your concern. It would be one thing if it were working but getting no relief from your anxiety and gaining weight is not acceptable. Dosulepin is not marketed in the States but it is a member of the class of antidepressants known as tricyclic antidepressants. As a group, that class tends to have a lot of side effects. What other medications have been prescribed for you for anxiety? If you have not been treated with other medications it would be helpful to know more about your general physical health and the type of anxiety that you experience. If you have not been evaluated by a mental health professional you should do so. There are a number of behavioral and cognitive approaches that might bring some relief without medication and weight gain.
