Tardive dyskinesia is not a known side effect of Buspar (buspirone), though there have been some case reports in which a patient taking buspirone experiences tardive dyskinesias. Actually TD is a listed side effect of buspirone. See the PDA, epocrates, and UptoDate online. One database of side effect reports lists 45 cases in over 9,000 reports ) or 0.45% of those taking buspirone that did report some kind of side effect.
