Beth - Don't get discouraged, a week is not nearly long enough to judge the effectiveness of medications like Lexapro. As a psychologist who works with lots of patients taking medications like this, I know that sometimes it may take three weeks to see the full effect and that sometimes the dosage needs to be increased from the starting dose. You should consult your physician or your local pharmacist about how to space out the medications for your needs and health issues. Be patient! I think you may get much more relief than you have so far. If you are not happy with the results in two more weeks ask your physician if he/she would agree to increase the dose.
