Hi i suffer from borderline personality disorder ,since taking lithium and venlofaxine i find i am constantly grinding my teeth in the day and was wondering if this could be a side effect from the medication ,the lithium really helps but would love to control the teeth grinding as i get terrible neck pain from it ,any ideas how i can stop this .Regards Carol

Grinding your teeth, or bruxism, has been reported to possibly be caused by some medications. According to an article which appeared on USPharmacist.com, (2005, Obisesan) the following medications may contribute to grinding teeth:
Talk with your doctor about what you are experiencing. Hopefully the doctor will be able to work with you to help reduce this side effect.
