Hi Brenda, Thank you for your question. The regimen that the nurse practitioner used is common, but if you experience side effects after a dose decrease, you should contact the prescriber to find out if it can be decreased at a slower rate. Every medication affects every person differently, so you won't know until you try it. You had mentioned that you experience side effects if you wait to long between doses. Hopefully you won't experience that with the lower dose, because you're not missing the dose, it's just less than you had been taking before. I hope this helps! Best of luck, Casey
