Can you give a little more information as to why she can't swallow, why she was given valium and both forms of morphine??

then - I would check with the pharmacist just to make sure that if the capsule is opened or the pill is crushed - it in no way effects the efficacy or transit time of the medications.  Since she is 82 0 I would be careful with mixing both those medications, since in a senior they can 'together' significantly impact balance, cognitive function, etc.
