Q: On average, how long does a person with GAD need to be on anti-anxiety meds like Cymbalta?

Hi there

 

Have you just started taking Cymbalta? 

 

I don't think there is any one answer to this question because everyone is different.  I would suggest getting some therapy in addition to taking medication because a pill is only going to help so much.  Cognitive-behavioral therapy can teach you skills to cope with your anxiety for a life-time. 

 

We did a Member Medication Review of Cymbalta over on our depression site.  You may want to read how other patients have fared when using this drug.
