Q: HELP! I need help to get back on cymbalta, limited income, insuranse does pay for cymbalta

I was on Zoloft 200mg for many years. I also still take the Ativan for anxiety, flexeril for muscles, vicodin 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours for over 20 years for pain in my left ankle which has no cartilage between the bones & plantar facitus. After the death of my husband last year, they changed me from zoloft to cymbalta. The cymbalta is quite expensive $400. The cymbalta worked well. It not only helped the depression, but also helped my fybromyalgia pain. Then I moved to a different city. My previous Dr. gave me samples  of the cymbalta, my new Dr. does not have those samples. So he put me back on zoloft. I have a tremendous amount of pain now. My dr now has taken me cold turkey off the vicodin, even though I have so much more pain without it. I would like to know if their is any help available for getting Cymbalta. I miss it. Not only am I in so much pain, I gave myself a roaring concussion, slamming my forehead into a steel beam. I hit so hard that it threw me back 3 feet where I landed on my back. I already had 2 bulging discs in my neck from about a year ago. Those are sitting on the nerves in my shoulders, making my arms go numb. They have me on the gabapentan for that which does keep my arms from going numb. But it is not helping the neck, back & leg pain. I am now on 900mg 3 times per day. I also take 4 mg of ativan per day for anxiety & blood pressure & phenergan to hold the vicodin down. I am now alone raising 2 of my 7 grandchildren. Alone.

I am sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now.

Most major pharmaceutical companies have programs to help those who cannot afford their medications. There are also other organizations which will help with medication costs, if you are eligible.
