Has anyone had bad withdrawals when coming off of Effexor? I have been on it for 6yrs and I am at a 375mg/day dose right now. How difficult is it to come off this amount and how long does it take?

Many people successfully stop taking antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications without feeling withdrawal symptoms, however, some people do experience discomfort and withdrawal symptoms. You should speak with your doctor about stopping this medication. Normally, doctors will help develop a schedule to be weaned off the medication, cutting your dose slowly, week by week or month by month. This often relieves many of the withdrawal symptoms people feel.
