Hi Kim: I am not a physician but found that Kalma contains the active ingredients in alprazolam, which is a benzodiazepine. In other words, a tranquilizer. Alprazolam is the generic name for the prescription medication Xanax. You may have heard of Valium or Librium, and this medication works in a similar fashion. You can read more about alprazolam here.  This can be obtained by a prescription only. Benzodiazepines can be very addictive, but if they work for you, then follow what your physician recommends. If you trust your doctor, then you should listen to him/her. If you don't, seek a second opinion. If you are in counseling, great!
