Can chronic stress cause migrane type headaches that stay for a week?

I have had really bad headaches for several years, OTC medications do not seem to help, and even going to sleep I wake up with the headache. This usually lasts for a week. I was put on medication only this last September so I don't think that has anything to do with it. Could chronic stress be...
