Hi again, Wendy: Previcid is great for antiacid, but is not used to control issues such as you are describing. If you look at the stressors in your life, (there's good and bad stress, by the way) and add them all together, you may have a pretty big pile of anxiety that has acumulated. For instance, I worked with a patient who had changed jobs to a really great job, was planning her wedding, had bought their dream house, and life looked perfect, right? Maybe, until the panic attacks started happening. All these great stressors built up and became overwhelming. She went to her physician who prescribed an antidepressant and recommended that they seek counseling. After a couple of sessions they realized that life looked "too big" to manage and she started working on what was really going on with her. Happily, her anxiety and panic turned around and after several months, she was able to discontinue her antidepressant. She chose to stay in therapy for a few months longer to work on issues that involved her childhood and family. She was doing extremely well by the time we terminated her sessions.  I hope this helps.
