Hi Olivette,   Thank you for your question! Dizziness is a rather common side effect of Lipitor, occurring in 2-10% of the people who take this medication. If the dizziness is very bothersome to you and is affecting your lifestyle, you may want to ask your doctor if he or she can prescribe another cholesterol medication for you. There are several other medications similar to Lipitor (Crestor, Zocor, Mevacor, and Pravachol) that your doctor could try. If it's not that bothersome to you, you may choose to give it a try for a few weeks to see if the side effect goes away once your body becomes used to the medication.
