Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

Everyone feels some nervousness about upcoming medical procedures. Some amount of anxiety is normal. However, if your anxiety is severe, you should talk with your doctor about how you are feeling. Your doctor may be able to give you some suggestions on how you can manage the anxiety or may be able to treat your anxiety just until the surgery is over.

Hi there

Did something happen after you had your tonsils out to cause you anxiety?

I can relate to your fears.  I am having troubles with my gallbladder too and I will most likely need such surgery.  From what I hear...it is a very common surgery and most times you are in and out...and the recovery is relatively quick.  Is there a specific fear related to the surgery such as...going under or pain or...feeling scared of the procedure?

What helps me is to read up on the procedure itself and how the doctors will do it...and also the success stories of people who do just fine after their surgery.

Here is our information about gallbladder removal.

I talked with a nurse who had hers out...she was consoling me because my pain sent me into an urgicare.  She said she could eat again without pain and that her recovery time was really short.  She made me feel better about the whole thing.

Please let us know how it goes.  You can do this!
