Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.

I am not a medical professional and therefore would not be able to accurately answer your question.

I do, however, want to encourage your son to see a medical professional to help with his withdrawal symptoms. Although the original prescribing physician did not notify him of the dangers of withdrawal, it can be dangerous to suddenly stop this medication and it should be done under the supervision of a physician.

I know you are concerned about your son. Pay attention to his symptoms of withdrawal.

According to drugs.com:

"You may have seizures or withdrawal symptoms when you stop using Klonopin. Withdrawal symptoms may include tremor, sweating, trouble sleeping, muscle cramps, stomach pain, vomiting, and unusual thoughts or behavior."

If you see these symptoms, or if they worsen, please encourage your son to seek medical help.

I am sorry I could not have been of more help.

Eileen
