Hello Jenn & welcome to the site

I myself took Librium for quite some time in the past and I never gain weight because of it, Librium is a benzodiazepine often use to counter the withdrawl effects of Achool and it as other use also treating anxiety is one.

The best thing to do is ask your pharmacist or your Doctor But I'm quite certain that you dont need to be worried.

Hi Jenn,

I do not know if it is the librium or my Tyroid imbalance. I was diagnosed (after two heart attacks) less than nine months ago with "Grave's disease" So, I actually should have a hard time keeping weight on. I aleady was 30 lbs. over weight when this all happen but, since then...have cut "ALL" processed food, sugar, soda, potato's,anything white out of my diet. The only kind of meat I eat is organic chicken maybe once a week, the rest of my diet consists of fresh friut, vegggie's,lentils, beans, brown rice, greek yogurt. I have always been very active. I do an hour 6 days a week on the tread mill, lift weights, clean horse stalls (that gets your heart rate up with sweating) I just never sit down. I CANNOT lose a pound! It could be..The librium, lack of sleep (I only get 4 hours straight@ a time)stress hormones,ect...but...I think it is the librium. Please let me know how you are doing with it. Sincerely, Cheryl
