can vistaril come up as a benso in an oral swab?
I take oral swabs for a program I am in. I have been clean for 1 year. I took a swab recently and it came up for benzo's at the time I was taking my effexir and vistaril. Could that have had anything to do with it? I am so confused. I know I took nothing else. Please help. I am now only taking urines and have since stop taking my medicine because I am afraid it may come up in my urine.

If you are in a program that requires you to have periodic drug screening, then you might want to have your doctor write an explanation for the two medications you are being treated with. Both Vistaril and Effexor will show up in toxicology screens but with a doctor's explanation, it should be ok. These medications will also show up in urinalysis too, so call your doctor's office and ask them to get you the documentation you need.
