Cymbalta did abosuletly nothign for me, but over the year i realized SSRI's arent for me personally, everyones different. You could try it but if its not for you just ask a therapist and docfor other reccomendations and Google them honestly, theres good resources about these things. But Cymbalta being an SSRI takes time to work in a persons brain and i geuss become "programmed" but if you were to go on it..dont expect to notice any changes for a week or 2, jsut the way they work. Good luck

Cymbalta was the answer for me.  I had tried lexapro which helped with the anxiety, but it made me emotionally flat, and I gained 30 pounds.  I weaned off lexapro, but the depression came back.  After telling my doctor about my flat emotions, she suggested cymbalta which helps not only with the seratonin levels, but another brain chemical that has to do with the joy center of the brain.  It made all the difference for me.  My neice went on it the same time I did and the only side effect we noticed was a healthier attitude toward food.  We both say we get hungry in our stomachs, not in our heads.  In other words, we are not emotional eaters anymore.  We eat just when we are hungry.  I lost 35 pounds so far effortlessly.  I have read some complaints from Cymbalta users who have side effects if they don't take the medicine at the same time each day.  However, occassionally, I have missed a dose and have not noticed any ill effects.  I just pick up the next day with a dose.  Not everyone response the same to specifice SSRI's, but Cymbalta has helped me become my old self again.  Good luck.
