Hello ,I have been taking tranxene prescribed by my doctor 20mg for anxiety for about 1 and a half
months starting off with 3 quarters then gradually decreasing it every 15 days until I finally stopped at 1 eighth. Then I stopped it completely. When I did,I started to tremble all over my body and had stomach disorders and although I slept well, I always woke up in panic and started crying because it continued every day . I just couldn't calm down. I stopped it for about 10 days thinking the symptoms wiil just go away but they didn't. Called my doctor, she told me that my symptoms were not from Tranxene but it was my anxiety.She told me to start taking them again. I'm taking them again and have been for a week but I still have the same symptoms; trembling, like a machine is working inside me and waking up in a panic.Can you please help me and advise me on what to do? Before I say anything (I am no doctor) but been living with anxiety for years, in my point of vue your doctor gave you some false info, this is what I mean: tranxene is a benzodiazepine what you where going trough is quite normal actually, you where in withdrawl from the med.
Any benzodiazepine taking for more then ten days will cause some withdrawl effects that are quite unpleasent I know because I lived it further more going off these meds is know to be quite hard, actually its the most severe one harder then heroin because the withdrawl effects can last up to two years, ask a doctor on this site and see the answer he will give you, I'm not kiding.
So to put it simply your anxiety went up because it was withdrawl symptoms and by the way one thing I find terrible these days is that I think ''some doctors'' treat themself by subsrinbing these meds ( take these and go home) much easier then going to the source of your anxiety they dont want to listen or dont know how.
They have a easy pen as I say, so one piece of advice question your doctor before taking meds ask about the side effects and so on.
YOUR NOT ALONE living this Benzodiazepine have what they call a half life (it would be to long to explain here) but again ask your doc if he knoews anything about these meds he will be able to explain and you will see that what you where going trough was part of the process of getting off tranxene.
