Q: I have had two very serious viral infections in the last year, can anxiety bring on viral infections

Last summer I got sick very very suddenly just felt very "wierd" couldn't figure out

what was wrong with me - just didn't feel right.  All of the sudden I started throwing

up and then had diarehha.  I felt so bad I called 911 (I didn't have the "flu" - I was

just very sick - can't explain it.  The ambulance took me to the hospital - I was

complteley dehydrated, they kept me all afternoon given me fluids - I kept vomiting and

vomiting.  All the blood work came back normal they said it was gastrointerititis.

This summer, I had something very similiar happen again.  I was deathly sick ,l

had chills and was shaking ,had diareahha but my temperature was 96.4 - and I felt HORRIBLE.  I didin't have a temp. it was below normal???

i MADE MY HUSBAND TAKE ME TO THE DOCTOR IN MY PAJAMAS (THAT'S HOW SICK I

WAS)   THEY GAVE ME a shot for the vomiting - (I threw up in the doctors office)

and they told me I was dehydrated and told me to drink Gatoraide - if I didn't feel

better they told me to go to emergency room for fluids. They did blood work and said I

had a "viral" infection. I finally got better but it

took almost 3 weeks.  I have extreme anxiety about this - I am so afraid it is going

to happen again....why am I getting these wierd sicknesses?  Can anxiety cause viral

infections?  I have a lot of anxiety - it can be extreme.
