the right medication
Is there a safe anxiety med to use with a heart condition?
Hi Dayna,
Your cardiologist is the best person to answer this question. I can tell, you however, that sometimes beta blockers are prescribed for people with anxiety, which are sometimes prescribed to people who have had a heart attack, hypertension, or certain types of arrhythmias. Essentially beta blockers "block" nerves that stimulate the heart to beat faster.
But again, beta blockers may not be right for you, and some other medications may be fine. So please, ask your cardiologist, and we'd be happy to hear what she/he says to you!
