Doreen - People who have been taking antidepressants in the SSRI family for awhile sometimes do report that it seems as if the medication stopped working. Sometimes this is just a signal of the need to increase the dosage and sometimes a new medication is what's needed. Depending on the dose of Lexapro you are currently taking you may want to ask your doctor to try you at a higher dose. If this isn't possible and you really had gotten some relief from the medication before it stopped working there are sometimes other medications that can be added to "augment" the effects of your current medication. And sometimes it's just time to try something new. Talk to your doctor about all these options.
