Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.   I am sorry that you are experiencing a difficult time right now.   Many people will begin to seek treatment through their family physician. He or she would be best able to determine if you should have additional medical tests to rule out any possible physical causes for your feelings or if you should have additional treatment.   Although there is medication available to treat depression and anxiety, often therapy will help as well. Medication is not a cure, but it is a way to help some people manage symptoms better.   I am not a medical professional and would not be able to offer you advice on medications. You should discuss any questions you may have about your medication with your doctor or your pharmacist. He or she would have the knowledge to understand your situation and how the medication may impact your life and interact with other medications you may be taking.   For further information on medications for Anxiety:   Frequently Asked Questions - Benzodiazepines   Frequently Asked Questions About Antidepressants   How Antidepressants are Used to Treat Anxiety    Deciding on Anxiety Medications   Monitoring the Effectiveness of Medication   Side Effects of Antidepressants         Eileen
