Q: Are 100mglamenta, 150 mg zoloft , 5mg lexapro good for 19yrs depressed girl with extreme shyness?

This is about my adoptive daughter, sufferring from depression and extreme social shyness.  Her biological mother  suffers from mental illness all her life.  She has been in therapy in Queens, NY for over 7 years.  I see very little result.   I am concerned if she will have a chance for a productive life, especially when the mental care she is receiving is really not helping her.

She is living with the grandparents who gave up on her by treating her like a child in a loving and caring manner.    I am trying hard not to give up on her.  I can't find  programs in NYC that could or would help her.  Please refer me to program that could be of assistance.    I have my own issues with depression or anxiety, but I am highly functional.

This is a child conceived at a state institution because of their negligence if done by a patient.  I have a strong feeling that my sister was impregnated by a coworker.  My daughter looked like the father working at the psych institution.  Please help if you can!

Blackpearl,

Thank you for your question. I am not a medical professional and would not be able to determine if the combination of medication is helping your daughter. This would be something you would need to discuss with your daughter's doctor.

I am not familiar with Queens to know what services are available, but you can try getting in touch with the Anxiety Disorder Association of America. Someone there may be able to tell you what services are available in your area.
