Q: insomnia

i am suffering  from insommnia problem from past 14 to 16 yrs and having lack of sleep from the day i lost my father , and am a pancreatistis patient suffereing from chronic calcified pancreatitis,and it became more bad and worst and sleepless nights after i was diagnos with this illness......what should i do i am very scared to take sleeping pills so i have been taking tanquilizers from past 6yrs ....what should i do.....??????
