Jeannea - Librium is a long acting benzodiazepine. Clearance is determined by age and general health. It has an active metabolite with a half-life of 36 - 200 hours. This means that it could take weeks to completely clear the body.

I took Librium for five days for alcohol withdraws it's now 30 days later and it is still in my system. I've read alot of reviews and the 20 to 200 hour rule is not the case for me. I would be leary of these statments. 1 report said it could be in your system as long as 6 months depending on the person. That's scary when you think that most drug test scales only have it in your system for 1 to 7 days on average. What does that mean? A fialed drug test with no way of proving you have not taken the drug. Companies are going to use the scale to measure whither you failed or passed. Not good!
