Saturday, August 08, 2009 worried wife asks

Q: Is This a symptom or a withrawl?

my husband was put on zoloft and for three weeks the doctor switched the dosage twice. He began having horrible reactions which led to the er. The doctor changed the meds to prozac about one week ago. He was told to take one 20mg pill a day for a week then add a second 20mg to it. Tonite he woke up frantic. Stating he had dreams that were skipping, and having brain zaps. He said he felt strang. Is this from getting off the zoloft, or is it from the prozac?

Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.

I hope that your husband is feeling better today. I am not a medical professional and would not be able to tell you whether the symptoms were a reaction to the second medication or a withdrawal from the first medication.

If your husband continues to have symptoms, please contact your doctor and discuss this with him or her.
