Thank you for your question. Marriage and relationships are difficult enough, but when anxiety or other mental illnesses are added in, it is even that much more difficult. According to the Anxiety Disorder Association of America (ADAA) people with Generalized Anxiety Disorder are more likely to have problems in relationships than those people without anxiety.

Some of the suggestions ADAA offers for spouses:

Include couples therapy into the treatment plan. This does not mean the person with anxiety should not have individual therapy, but including the spouse in treatment for some therapy sessions can help to resolve some of the relationship issues.

Learn about anxiety and how it may impact your spouse's life as well as your family life

Accept where your husband is presently and work forward from here.

Communicate with your spouse

In addition to those ways of helping your spouse, you must also remember to take care of yourself. Create a network of support, such as family or friends, to help you cope with the problems anxiety can create. In addition, make sure you continue to keep social activities and engagements. If there are times your spouse is not able to attend a social function, consider going alone or with a friend. You need social interaction and attention.

I hope this information helps, please let me know how it is going.
