How long does it usually take prozac to start working after starting it?
Hi Nickie,
You might see some improvement in your symptoms after using Prozac for one or two weeks, but generally it can take 4-6 weeks to get the full benefit. During this initial period you might experience some side effects, please contact your doctor if these side effects are too intolerable.
If you have very severe side effects, talk to your doctor about getting a liquid form of Prozac. You can get a liquid form at a compounding pharmacy, and the benefit of using liquid is that you can start at an very low dose and build up gradually so that you avoid side effects.
