Vicki provided a link to a great article that explains anxiety in detail. It should answer your basic question. Once you read this, if you feel you may be exhibiting symptoms of anxiety it would be a good idea to talk with your doctor. Taking a list of symptoms and examples of how you feel they relate to you will help you and your doctor discuss the possibility of you having anxiety.

There are treatments available today that can be very helpful and will help you to do the things you enjoy without suffering from anxiety.

Hi Christina,

You can read about anxiety and its symptoms here in the overview. There are several catagories of anxiety. The major form of anxiety disorder is Generalized Anxiety Disorder. "

"The disorder is defined as persistent worry every day or almost every day, for six months or more. In some cases, a person with generalized anxiety disorder feels he or she has always been a worrier, even since childhood or adolescence. In other cases, the anxiety may be triggered by a crisis or a period of stress, such as a job loss, a family illness or the death of a relative. Although the crisis eventually goes away and the stress passes, an unexplained feeing of anxiety may last months or years."

If you think you might be experiencing anxiety disorder, the best thing to do is see your doctor. In the meantime, you can find information here and use this assessment to ask all the right the questions of your doctor.
