I have been on lexapro for 3 weeks and am still anxious and obsessive thoughts but les panic my doctor increased the dose from 5 to 10 mg how long will it take to get the effects from the increase? Can it make me more anxious or increase side effects?

According to the information on Lexapro, most people will begin to feel the benefits of the medication after one to two weeks but the full effect may not be felt for up to four weeks.
This would be the same for any increase in the medication as well.
Side effects are different in each person so it would be impossible to say whether or not you would feel additional side effects and to what extent.
