I feel anxiosness in my legs when I am still. No pain or numbness and no tingly sensations.
If I move around I am okay. Just when I sit or lay. Could this be due to anxiety?
Hi Do:
I am not a physician, but it sounds like you have Restless Leg Syndrome, or RLS. You can learn more about the symptoms and causes at this National Institutes of Heath website for the disorder.
This disorder is characterized by uncomfortable feelings in the legs, especially at rest, that is, when you are sitting or lying down. It usually shows up between the knee and the ankle, but can appear in the feet and thighs. You probably don't notice it much during the day.
There are medications for this -- Requip (ropinirole) is one that is frequently advertised. It was initially developed for Parkinson's Disease. Unfortunately, many patients don't like the side effects that can include faintness, fever, stiff muscles, tremors, and trouble breathing.
Check with your physician about the possibility of RLS. He may tell you that prevention is probably better treatment than medications. Exercise, avoidance of caffeine, alcohol, and certain medications may aggravate symptoms.
I hope this helps,
Dr. Diana Walcutt

YOU DEFINITLY HAVE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME I DO TOO, I HATE IT IT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT, AND IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS EVER HELPED ME IS NARCOTICS, BUT I DONT RECOMEND THEM BECAUSE THEY DONT FIX THE PROBLEM AND CAUSE ADDICTION AND WHEN YOU STOP TAKING THEM ITLL BE WORSE AND YOULL HAVE A MILLION OTHER AGGRAVATING SYMPTOMS. BE CAREFUL.
