My coping mechanisim couldn't cope...ANXIETY ATTACKS!!

I was diagnosed with anxiety before going into the 9th grade. I had...

09/15/08

I take Zoloft 200mg QID, Ativan three times a day, Buspar 15mg 1/2 tablet twice a day and my beats per minute range 95-120. Rarely it will be 70-85. Why does it do that and does that mean I am going to have an anxiety attack if it goes that high? I have been on these meds for over a month. Does anyone else experience this with anxiety even though they are medicated? I am very worried about this. Please answer if you know anything about it.
No one has answered my question and I am very worried. I have checked it multiple times today and it has either been 109 BPM or 106 BPM. Can someone please help me.

Hi CC:

The first thing I want to ask is what does your doctor say? Have you been to a cardiologist, and if not, why not? Then, I would like to know how long has this been an issue and has your doctor put you on blood pressure meds? Finally, it would be important to know your age, your height and weight, if you are diabetic, and if you drink caffeine or smoke tobacco? In other words, it is impossible to diagnose this kind of problem without doing a physical. Another thing that can happen is, because it makes you anxious to check your heart rate, it will automatically go up when you check it.

Go see your doctor and ask him these questions. If you don't trust him, find one whom you can trust. Please don't depend on a stranger on the Internet to diagnose you.

Best of Luck,

Dr. Diana Walcutt

hi! there is a new drug called Procoralan, the active substance is Ivabradine. it works only on heart rate, not affecting BP or any other cardiac parameters. you start with 5mg twice a day 1-0-1, and after the first month you you switch to the higher dosage of 7.5 mg and continue with that. the only thing you have to have a normal rythm. You should ask your doctor about it, and as far as I know it doesn't interfere with anxiety medication.
