Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition that arises after a traumatic or tragic event. While often associated with war veterans - abuse, vehicle accidents and fire are just a few of the other possible causes of this type of anxiety. PTSD can be difficult to diagnose and is made more challenging by the fact that people who have the condition do not always seek help. To diagnose PTSD a doctor will ask many questions about the symptoms and tragic event experienced and might also perform a physical exam.
