Anxiety, health problems linger for 9/11 survivors

According to a new study, people who were directly exposed to the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 continued to report new symptoms of post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) up to six years after the event. More people were reporting PTSD symptoms in 2006-2007 than in 2003-2004, researchers found, and they were more than four times more likely to experience the anxiety disorder than people who did not witness the attacks.
