Though heart disease is a leading cause of death in women, scientists have found that many women's heart symptoms are often attributed to anxiety and left untreated. In a new study, investigators found that when doctors examine patients who are stressed out and exhibit symptoms of heart disease, they are more prone to attribute the symptoms to anxiety if the patient is a woman.
