Mothers who eat a diet full of fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods during pregnancy have children with bigger and stronger bones later in life, a new study has found. Researchers say kids had bones with 11 percent greater bone mineral density, and had 8 percent greater bone area than women who ate white bread, fried foods, soft drinks, and canned vegetables while pregnant. And this appeared to be true even if their mothers smoked and had low vitamin D levels.
