Experts: Adult antipsychotics also work in children

Experts at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) say antipsychotic medications used to treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in adults are effective at treating the conditions in children and teens. The FDA is currently considering three applications for the use of the antipsychotics Geodon, Seroquel, and Zyprexa for these two conditions in patients under 18, and the agency's expert panels are set to meet to make recommendations on the drugs this week.
