Post Traumatic Stress Symptoms

A cancer diagnosis is difficult for every member of a family, but a
new study suggests it may hit kids particularly hard. Dutch
researchers studied a group of adolescents during the year after a
parent's diagnosis and found that 29 percent of them had
post-traumatic stress symptoms. Researchers also say that in most
cases the parents underestimated their child's stress. Most
reported their child's symptoms to be less severe than the child
reported.
