Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Asthma and anxiety disorders have been linked for some time, but
new research suggests that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
may double the risk for asthma. Researchers from Columbia
University followed twins who served in Vietnam together. They
found that those who had PTSD were twice as likely to have asthma
as their healthy sibling. Researchers say this suggests that
profound anxiety may influence the development of asthma.
